December 13, 2025 | The Nest – Virgie, Kentucky
Kentucky Championship Wrestling returned to The Nest on December 13th for Champions for Charity, and the night proved to be one of the most emotional and impactful events in KCW history. From shocking twists to historic firsts, the evening blended classic wrestling storytelling with a powerful message of giving back.
Opening Segment: Sean Cruise Tries to Escape — and Fails
The night kicked off with controversy as Sean Cruise attempted to weasel his way out of competition by proposing an unsanctioned match. After deliberately taking a 10-count disqualification, Cruise believed he had successfully avoided the night’s consequences.
That plan was quickly shut down.
Jonathan Hampton interrupted the segment and announced that Cruise would, in fact, wrestle later that evening. The stakes were immediately raised when Hampton declared that if BERTO won, he would finally be reunited with Hippo, ending a six-month saga filled with deception, twists, and frustration.
The tone for the night was set — no shortcuts, no escape.
Match Results
Match 1
Lifeguard Ross defeated Jeff Paul
Lifeguard Ross kicked off the in-ring action with an impressive victory over Jeff Paul, setting a high-energy pace for the night and earning a strong reaction from the Virgie crowd.
Match 2
Ryan Compton vs. Kenny Urban — No Contest
What was shaping up to be a competitive matchup was thrown into chaos when Josef Von Schmidt made his shocking KCW debut, interfering in the bout. The referee ruled the match a no contest, but the real story was the arrival of Von Schmidt — a debut that instantly sent shockwaves through the KCW locker room.
Intermission Highlight
During intermission, The Valley Junior Cheerleaders delivered a flawless performance as they prepare for their upcoming KAPOS State Competition. The crowd showed tremendous support, making it a proud moment that perfectly embodied the spirit of Champions for Charity.
Match 3
Corey Sparks defeated Adam Newsome
In a nail-biting contest, Corey Sparks picked up the win over Adam Newsome — with the inevitable involvement of his tag team partner Chase Bennett. The outcome raises major questions moving forward:Is a clash between Adam Newsome & Carmichael and The Shooters Society on the horizon?
Match 4
Shawna Reed defeated Freya States
History was made as Shawna Reed and Freya States competed in the first-ever KCW Women’s Match. The bout was nothing short of epic, with both competitors leaving everything in the ring.
Unfortunately, Shawna Reed suffered a torn pectoral muscle and cracked ribs during the match. She will be out of action until further notice. KCW extends its best wishes to Shawna for a full and speedy recovery after making history in Virgie.
Giving Back to the Community
One of the most powerful moments of the night came when Jonathan Hampton presented a check for $1,020 to Kelly Mikles, founder of 74 Eagles.
The funds will go toward the reconstruction of the Virgie Community Pool, reinforcing KCW’s commitment to giving back to the community that continues to support professional wrestling in Eastern Kentucky.
Main Event
BERTO defeated Sean Cruise
Wrestling historians would call this an instant classic.
After six long months of twists, turns, and heartbreak, BERTO finally overcame Sean Cruise in an emotionally charged main event. With the victory, BERTO reclaimed Hippo, closing one of the most personal and deeply connected stories KCW has ever told.
The eruption inside The Nest was unforgettable — a moment that reminded everyone why wrestling is more than just competition… it’s storytelling, perseverance, and heart.
