NOW HIRING — RING CREW / EVENT OPERATIONS
Kentucky Championship Wrestling (KCW) is currently accepting applications for dependable, hardworking individuals to join our Ring Crew and Event Operations Team.
Our Ring Crew plays an essential role in making every KCW event possible. From the moment our equipment arrives at the venue until the final piece is loaded after the show, Ring Crew members work behind the scenes to help create the professional environment our wrestlers and fans have come to expect.
This is a paid, per-event position with compensation based on experience and discussed during the hiring process. Most KCW events are currently held throughout Letcher and Pike Counties, Kentucky, but applicants should be prepared for additional travel as Kentucky Championship Wrestling continues to expand.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
KCW Ring Crew members may be responsible for:
Loading and unloading the professional wrestling ring and event equipment
Assisting with complete wrestling ring setup and teardown
Setting up barricades, chairs, tables, entrance equipment, and other event infrastructure
Assisting with merchandise and production setup
Maintaining and cleaning the wrestling ring and ringside area
Assisting referees, wrestlers, production personnel, and other KCW event staff as directed
Loading equipment following events and preparing equipment for transportation
Maintaining an organized and safe backstage, ringside, and event setup environment
Performing additional event operations duties as assigned
SCHEDULE & HOURS
This is an event-based position and does not follow a traditional weekly work schedule.
Ring Crew is normally needed on the day of the event. Certain larger events may also require Ring Crew members to assist with setup one day prior to the event.
Applicants should expect approximately 6–8 hours of physical setup and teardown work per event, in addition to any responsibilities assigned during the live event.
Most KCW events take place on evenings and weekends, so applicants must have adequate availability for scheduled event dates.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must:
Be 18 years of age or older
Have reliable transportation
Be physically capable of safely lifting and carrying at least 55 lbs. or more
Be capable of repeated lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, and equipment movement
Be dependable and arrive on time for scheduled crew call times
Be able to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team
Be willing to work evenings and weekends
Be willing to work approximately 6–8 hours of setup and teardown during events
Be willing to travel primarily throughout Letcher and Pike Counties, with additional travel possible as KCW expands
Be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate Kentucky Boxing and Wrestling Commission Event Staff License
KBWC LICENSING
Ring Crew members are responsible for obtaining and maintaining any Kentucky Boxing and Wrestling Commission license required to perform their duties.
The cost associated with obtaining the license is normally the responsibility of the worker.
However, arrangements may be available through KCW to help offset or work toward the cost of obtaining the required license, subject to approval and an agreement between KCW and the crew member
EXPERIENCE
No previous professional wrestling experience is required.
KCW will train the right individuals to meet the high standards expected from our Event Operations Team.
We aren't necessarily looking for someone who already knows how to build a wrestling ring.
We're looking for people who are:

Comfortable performing physical work

Professional around talent, staff, venues, and fans
Willing to take pride in the finished product
We can teach you how we do things. We need you to bring the work ethic.
COMPENSATION
This is a paid, per-event position.
Compensation is based on experience and will be discussed with applicants during the hiring process.
Additional responsibilities, experience, travel requirements, and advancement within KCW Event Operations may be considered when determining compensation.
RING CREW BENEFITS
Members of the KCW Ring Crew receive several benefits in addition to their event compensation.
FREE KCW EVENT ADMISSION
Active Ring Crew members may receive free admission to KCW events they are not scheduled to work, subject to availability and KCW staff policies.
CATERED EVENT MEALS
Ring Crew members will receive catered meals during KCW events they are scheduled to work.
TRAVEL & LODGING
When KCW events outside of Pike or Letcher Counties require a multi-day setup or overnight stay, lodging will be provided by KCW for assigned Ring Crew members when required.
PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES
Interested Ring Crew members may also have the opportunity to participate in
KCW's professional wrestling training program.
This program can provide individuals interested in becoming professional wrestlers with the opportunity to begin learning the fundamentals of professional wrestling and receive in-ring training.
Participation in KCW's training program is separate from Ring Crew employment and is subject to KCW training requirements, eligibility, availability, and approval.
WHAT IT MEANS TO BE KCW RING CREW
Working Ring Crew isn't about simply getting into a wrestling event for free.
It means being part of the team responsible for building the show from the ground up.
You'll often be among the first people to arrive at the venue and some of the last people to leave.
You'll help turn an empty gymnasium, recreation center, school, or arena into a Kentucky Championship Wrestling event—and when the final bell rings, you'll help tear it all back down again.
It is physical work.
It can mean long days.
It requires teamwork.
And it requires people KCW can depend on.
For the right individuals, it can also be a great way to become involved in professional wrestling, learn live-event operations, travel with KCW, and potentially grow into additional roles within the organization.
